Pros

I was able to solidify a lot of the skills I had learned since coming right out of college. Everyone I worked with on the packaging design team was knowledgeable and wonderful people to work with. Someone was always there to help guide me if I ever had a question. Getting paid every week was also very nice.

Cons

I did not like having to clock in and out anytime I left my desk. I felt very controlled as not only an employee but also as an adult. I would have to clock out if I even went to get a quick snack. This did not make me feel like a trusted employee and professional. I was also told that I was going to get a higher paid salary but when I started, I was actually getting paid two to three dollars less than what I was told. This made me see that if I were to ever move up, I would probably be still getting paid less than what I should have been by industry standards.

Pros

40+ Hours per week of work guaranteed.

Cons

A toxic work environment can lead to termination without warning. Senior management prioritizes their interests and the company’s well-being, often disregarding employees’ rights and legal obligations. HR’s role is to protect senior management and the company, potentially at the expense of employees’ rights. Senior management continually chooses to a blind eye to wrong doing of favored employees, while knowingly prioritizing punishment of lower employees using fabricated policies that aren’t actually within store policy and procedures. Lack of accountability, lack of transparency, and lack of integrity run rampant with in the store and company. Unethical hiring practices, and weaponized incompetence to justify the out right gaslighting of your financial income and incentives. Pay deductions common place.
