      Pros

      Mercer is nice place to start a career, it has the brand name and has some very smart people people working there.

      Cons

      The process for performance ratings and compensation increases are very subjective. The typical day to day work is not very mathematical which does not lend itself to developing actuarial skills. Let analysts focus more on the mathematical side of things rather than on documenting the processes

      -Trustworthy immediate colleagues -Good work/life balance and flexibility

      Cons

      -Little career pathing within company. Organization is extremely siloed, and cheap as they simply aren't interested in paying for small things to advance one's career like local industry conferences and events such as team holiday dinners that would have minimal impact on the company's bottom line. -Pay not aligned with skills or talent marketplace -One would think a benefits/career consultant would have decent pay and benefits. This is not the case
