Pros

The only pro was flexible scheduling for part time/PRN staff.

Cons

Mercy really struggles with their culture surrounding social work. The Care Management supervisor over all the Social Workers was a nurse and stated that "Social work is the unnecessary part of Care Management. All you do is give our resources". They continually diminished the background, education, and daily counseling that goes into being a social worker and provided zero social work supervision or support. The hospital overall seems to fail in recognizing the immense value of having social workers and they've created a culture that is not only lacking in salary for a position that requires a Master's degree, but also valuing the time education and clinical experience it took to get there. So many social workers leave that job. I watched them lose so many in a 12 month period. It feels so toxic.
