Horrible sick leave policy - Registered Nurse Mercy Employee Review

Pros

I love my department but it's not part of the main hospital. There are lots of opportunities to work other places to get overtime. When I had a rough time at the first position I took at the hospital working as a floor nurse, they worked with me to find me a better fit. They now offer loyalty pay for nurses that have been there for 2 years or more for every hour that you work in patient care. It increases at 5 years, 10 years and so on.

Cons

The sick time policy is the worst. You have to use 32 hours of PTO before you can use sick time which encourages people to come to work sick. The insurance isn't the best. The main hospital is severely understaffed. Managers are overworked and I've never seen any of them really happy with their position. Decision making in upper management poor and costs them more money than it saves them. All the buildings have flat roofs and there are constantly water leaks. When COVID happened, they went straight to laying off employees and forcing employees into retirement.
