Pros

The pay is competitive for the area and you get a (TINY) yearly raise if you are in a department that is part of the union

Cons

Where do I start? Ever so often, higher management comes up with changes in each department that make no sense and impede performance. They are constantly trying to get lower and/or get rid of sick time. The insurance is awful. If you bring up any problems you have to anyone with the power to change things their answer is always "You should just be glad you have a job" (this has been told to many people). The union does does nothing but take part of your paycheck every pay period. They like to do their round of firings right before Christmas every year. Employee morale is so low that people are willing to take a pay cut just to get away from the company.

Pros

They give you decent time off especially after you've been there a number of years.

Cons

I think your experience all depends a lot on manager-- some care, some don't care enough.
