Meritage has a comfortable working environment with an overall idea of trying to create change. I believe that we do build the best homes and provide the best product for potential home buyers. Certain department leaders are open and willing to listen to and engage in new ideas to help the company.
Cons
Training! There is a fundamental miss in a training platform. Employees, both old and new, are looking for directions on where to get answers. Most things are either learned through tribal knowledge or being assertive enough to ask a million questions (hoping you find the right person to give you the right answer). The turnover rates in particular departments and divisions are a direct result of the lack of structure in the training department.
