No pressure in my job. Very interesting products & technology. Very diverse employees. Great! Lots of freedom in my job. Found opportunities and created a niche for myself. Was never reprimanded.
Cons
Maybe it's the company culture, but my manager does not manage in a strong and constructive manner.. Yearly "self-assessment" activity is a joke. No feedback. No opportunity to voice accomplishments and requests. High performers take pride in their work and want to show it off hopefully translating into recognition and compensation. Low performers need to hear constructive criticism to improve and become better contributors. Low performers are not given performance improvement goals and, as a result, do not improve and are kept on the job, often dragging the group productivity and morale down. Behavior I see would not be tolerated in my past company experience. Sad. Managers and supervisors do not have appropriate dollar-limit signing authority and it takes FOREVER to get something purchased. The owner has to approve simple stuff. What a waste of time.
