Pros

Great people through out the department. Highly visible investment assets and projects. Good exposure to varied investor groups and service partners.

Cons

Head count driven staffing rather than P&L review of personnel requirements. Performance mgmt process still uses a forced curve ranking of all staff. Cap on bonus incentives is below market. Bonus is often negatively influenced by overall company results.

Pros

I loved my job and my coworkers, and the company's health benefits were outstanding. Leaving wasn't an easy decision, but it was the right one.

Cons

I had a toxic manager who micromanaged everything—checking time reports, tracking lunch breaks, and monitoring every minute away from your desk. They often sent multiple emails to communicate a single point because they struggled to communicate clearly. High-visibility projects were consistently given to favorites, while the rest of the team was overlooked. They were also frequently condescending in team huddles and meetings. Based on my experience, they were never taught how to lead people effectively, and I'm genuinely surprised they're still in a management role.
