Pros

Bonuses each March , good healthcare benefits and a 401K match, pension if you stay for 5 years, onsite gym, nice office if you are in one of the major cities, esp. the home office, and a slight interest in diveristy and inclusion ( they are SLOWLY getting better, which is something that should be noted because they dont 'have to be'....)

Cons

Mgmt. is very old. And by old, I mean almost everyone at the Director or above level has been at Met for 15+ years. This is an issue. Why? Some managers are stuck thinking this is still a mutual company and "Mother Met" is still a thing. "Mother Met" is not still a thing. Snoopy is not still a thing. A ton, and I mean, ton of meetings to make sure you are relevant to your boss is outdated and is no longer 'the thing' at successful companies. These things waste time. They cause issues. Some VPs who have been here for a while dont even have direct reports. Many VPs use their direct reports to do the dirty work for them while not promoting them ( you know, so they can continue to do their dirty work for them) What a waste of money....money they could spend on innovation, tech upgrades and younger talent.

Pros

Good support for new people managers were very helpful and always available

Cons

Micromanage every second of your time; have to put in a request to go to the bathroom and wait for someone to grant it Expect you to put exceptions to your time after your shift ends on your own time Half hour lunch by the time I brought my lunch or heated my leftovers and went to the bathroom. I barely had time to wolf it down. Unrealistic call times Systems are horrible and crashing all the time expect you to be in at least 15 minutes before your shift unpaid to set up all the programs on your computer
