Pros

flexible work hours - strong company name - wide range of products - influence within institutional divisions - competitive industry compensation and benefits

Cons

upper management is focused solely on product turnover and activity - significant micromanagement for advisors who dont exceed the highest commission expectations - minimal advanced concept strategy training - company is not viewed as a prime player in the asset management/broker dealer market

Pros

I loved my job and my coworkers, and the company's health benefits were outstanding. Leaving wasn't an easy decision, but it was the right one.

Cons

I had a toxic manager who micromanaged everything—checking time reports, tracking lunch breaks, and monitoring every minute away from your desk. They often sent multiple emails to communicate a single point because they struggled to communicate clearly. High-visibility projects were consistently given to favorites, while the rest of the team was overlooked. They were also frequently condescending in team huddles and meetings. Based on my experience, they were never taught how to lead people effectively, and I'm genuinely surprised they're still in a management role.
