Pros

* Benefits are offered to full-time employees. * You are in control of your schedule. * You run your business. * Very small market share, equals more opportunity. * Most local managers do the best they can with the very poor support they receive

Cons

* The training in the worst in the industry since they made changes in 2015. * Constant rate increases make it harder and harder to get and keep client. * Local management is in the dark about changes and often learns about them form the sales staff not the other way around. *It is impossible to get a question answered, when you phone in no one knows what is going on * for new agents you will be pressed to sell the MetLife GA, there is no benefit to you selling these products it takes away for you time selling Met products and that if how you get paid.(you do make some commission on GA and any manager you speak to will tell you that. However, it is so little that it is truly not worth it. * I had a little over 20 people in my training class, one year latter none of the few that are still here are still excited to be at MetLife * There is no advancement opportunity * Very few tenured agents sell over 5 policies a week, most sell less than 4. I have seen agent come from other companies like Liberty Mutual selling 7-8 a week and are barely scraping 3.5 a week at MetLife. If you are in the business and are doing well at all I would suggest staying right where you are. The hiring manager will sell you hard on the opportunity, they are just doing their job, but it is not as good as it sounds.

Pros

Benefits, PTO, remote, some team mates are cool and super helpful. But they don’t want you being too chatty. Process process process. The pay is low for the stress is gives.

Cons

The pet department has really gone downhill ever since they implemented their “AA” system, which is just terrible to work with. You have to meet their metrics which it’s great to have QA and claim evaluations in place however, they will dock points for the most minor things, but you’ll see AA process things incorrectly, the supervisors process incorrectly, the team leads process incorrectly…. But only the adjusters will get points docked and write ups. And now they expect you to find the AA errors and send it to them, then send it back to you to correct…. But if YOU made that mistake, points docked. In the beginning, before AI, it was a really great job to have, I felt proud to come into work like I was making a difference but it turned into such a demoralizing and depressing job. They stopped treating us like humans over the past 12 months. Hearing the email and task alerts is enough to give you PTSD.
