Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear you’ve experienced a positive work environment in some units. That’s something we strive to foster across the board. Regarding parking, we want to clarify that employees have access to free parking at all campuses. While some campuses, including MDMC, have paid garages, there are multiple designated employee parking options available at no cost. Some employee lots require badge access, and team members are encouraged to stop by any HR office or volunteer services station for directions on where to park for free. PM-shift employees at MCMC may also park in the patient garage at no cost. We also recognize that floating can be a challenge. Our staffing approach is designed to meet patient care needs while supporting collaboration and professional growth. That said, we’re always working to improve the experience for our staff and appreciate your perspective. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts.

Pros

Coming from a smaller size hospital but big company like Methodist and known high paying hospital in DFW, I needed more shifts. Since MDMC is bigger than my other PRN, I have higher chance of getting shifts because there are more monitoring stations, more staff taking PTOs, higher chance of staff calling out sick and therefore opening the shift, etc.

Cons

More workload and higher census! Almost 50 patients on heart monitor per station.

We're glad to hear that the flexibility and availability of shifts have been a benefit for you. As one of the region's largest health systems, Methodist offers opportunities that can help PRN team members find the schedule that works best for them. We also recognize that higher patient volumes and workload expectations can come with working in a busy, high-acuity environment. Supporting our team members remains a priority, and we continually evaluate our compensation programs and workplace resources to remain competitive and help our employees succeed. Thank you for the important role you play in caring for our patients and for being a valued member of the Methodist family.
