WE NEED HELP - Executive Director RN Methodist Health System Employee Review

Pros

Night shift is like a family and everyone is always willing to work as a team. I have never felt uncomfortable or made to feel like I was incompetent asking questions simply because everyone actually likes helping each other out.

Cons

Nobody is fighting for us to get more staff in the ED, especially on night shift. We’re burnt out, severely understaffed, and strong nurses are quitting left and right because it feels like we’re being set up for failure and nobody is doing anything about it. It’s completely inappropriate that on a Saturday night, in a level 1 trauma center, in the middle of downtown Dallas, we have less than 1/3 of what a fully staffed ER should have (not including call ins). This has happened on multiple occasions.

Thank you for your review. We're happy that you're working well with your team. But we ask that you bear with us as we are trying our hardest to fully staff your department and every other unit at Methodist. The pandemic has taken a toll on nurses in every health system, and we're all suffering because of the shortage. Truly, we are doing the best we can and certainly hope that more staff relief comes soon!
