Pros

- Changes actually made based on employee surveys - Acknowledgement and prioritization on avoiding burnout - Town halls with C-Suite execs for feedback all the way to the top and questions on things that affect everyone - Large amounts of foresight and prep for national healthcare changes to protect employees - Every level of leadership I have cares about what I contribute and how I progress - Inclusion of everyone is amazing, regular encouragement to "take off the badge" so no one knows your position so that everyone's voice is taken equally

Cons

- Not every department has the same support - Office politics between departments - Healthcare benefits/coverage could be better from a healthcare institution - If you're applying, reaching out to the hiring manager is your best resource due to the large amounts of applications it is hard to filter through and hiring managers know what their department needs best

Thank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback. We’re glad to know our efforts from acting on employee surveys to prioritizing well-being, fostering inclusion, and keeping open lines of communication with leadership are making a positive impact. We also appreciate your honest notes on areas for improvement, including consistency across departments, healthcare benefits, and the hiring process. Feedback like this helps us focus on where we can improve. Your point about recognizing not just direct reports but also their teams is especially meaningful, and we’ll continue working to ensure every contribution feels valued. Pros

Money Insurance Good Boss Good coworkers Enjoyed orientation

Cons

During the orientation, they tell employees that their health is important. As health professionals, our health has to be good so we can take care of our patients and make their health better. However, Methodist Health System makes it extremely hard for an employee if they don’t have enough PTO to be able to get the help they need. So say you don’t have enough PTO but you need a doctors appointment that you have to go to. You’re gonna get a write up and those write ups eventually turn into termination. So where is the grace in the health system? Methodist would be a wonderful place to work if they truly understood their employees are human. I had someone pass away and I couldn’t even go to their funeral because I didn’t have the PTO and couldn’t afford to get a write up. I would’ve loved to have been able to go to my uncle’s funeral. Did anyone care know all you get is sorry for your loss, but you don’t have enough PTO…. So crappy. You’re BEYOND REPLACEABLE and they make sure you know it.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are truly sorry to hear about your loss. No one should feel unsupported when navigating what was clearly a very difficult time. At Methodist Health System, we strive to care for our employees with the same compassion we extend to our patients. We recognize that policies and processes can sometimes feel impersonal, and your feedback is important. We are committed to fostering a culture where leaders listen, respond with empathy, and work toward solutions whenever possible. We encourage you to reach out to your HR partner or a trusted leader so we can better understand your situation and explore how we can support you. Your voice matters, and we remain dedicated to making Methodist a place where our team members feel valued and cared for.
