Pros

Engaged, experienced and attentive management who treats you with professional and personal respect. You will feel that you're part of a family rather than a of a corporation. Incredibly fun, technologically challenging projects in diverse aerospace industry organizations. You get to work with very capable engineers and scientists in projects that push the envelope of our current state-of-the-art.

Cons

Not a place for those who don't enjoy working hard or being intellectually challenged in projects that move at a fast pace and change every few months. You will never work alone, so if you're not a fan of collaborative effort this is not the best work place for you.

Pros

Definitely has a very good work culture. Joy Colluci is by far the best CEO I've worked under and she really does make the effort to make sure each employee feels valued and welcome in the company, something very rare in government contracting. Senior management and HR are fantastic. Beyond that, most of your experience is going to be defined by the contract you're working on, which admittedly makes up at least 50% of the quality of the work environment. But overall, Metis is a great company to work for.

Cons

Pay and benefits are decent, but nothing great. Pretty much par for the course with government contracting, but it's not bad by any means. They do their best to take care of employees during budget cuts, but ultimately the depth of their work is still somewhat limited, so they're may not be as many opportunities to stick with them should the contract get a funding cut.

Pros

- Excellent work life balance - work on cool, meaningful gov projects - better pay compared to other contractors - friendly management - small, woman owned business; not a faceless giant corporation

Cons

- coolness factor is highly variable, depends on the exact nature of project - pay can be less than industry standard - less structure on career advancement
