Pros

Pretty location. Pleasant environment. Good healthcare. Good tech equipment and support. Tuition waver. Free New York Times online access.

Cons

Pitiful salary means making under 30K for demanding, high responsibility admin work. Zero promotion opportunities. Don't expect any raises, even if you have great reviews and everyone relies on you. You're lucky if you get a 16 cents hourly increase to "cover" inflation. Professional development program has decent bonuses but you have to put in 150 hours plus reflection essays for a 55 cents hourly raise. Semester-long classes are counted differently so you'd have to take 19 courses (!?) for the 55 cents raise. They brag about supporting employee wellness but replaced the fitness classes with an app (payroll deductions stayed the same). Complete lack of new hire training for classified admin. Anything beyond the basics for every type of employee, you're on your own. It's not just figuring out a system or process, it's figuring out what systems and processes you even need to figure out, who to contact for access, what to be aware of, all of it.
