Pros
Great university. Excellent programs for students. Beautiful campus. Wonderful training opportunities.
Cons
Unfortunately there's been a revolving door for CIOs over the past 10 years. Recently MSU Central IT brought in a strong CIO to manage all central IT services. Within 2 years they asked her to leave, cut desperately needed programs/projects, and implemented massive cuts to staffing. A full third of the executive leadership within central IT services is now gone, and the CISO is now playing his role and that of the CIO. Knowing that MSU IT was already 5 years behind other Big 10 universities for IT infrastructure, development, and service management this set them back further. If you're looking for an organized, mature, and funded place to work...look elsewhere unfortunately.
