      - Flexible hours - Amazing letters of rec - Great mentors - Ability to learn many office related skills I worked as research staff for one of the College of Nursing professors for two years. I was compensated fairly, received two raises/promotions, and learned finance, grant-writing, and research skills. Great place to work, great work environmnt

      - Could be boring at times - Wasn't able to be full time due to the cost of paying benefits

      Pros

      The HPC facilities (HPCC, ICER) offer excellent access for research affiliates colpaborating with university researchers, with Slurm job scheduling and a well-managed site-specific wiki.

      Cons

      Annual account renewal can be a bit bureacratically clunky at times, and the Research Affiliate may have to coordinate with multiple departments and the associated PI if a system update breaks part of a legacy system.
