      Pros

      - People are very nice and helpful - East Lansing is completely dedicated to MSU students - Very safe environment

      Cons

      - Everyone in Engineering grad school is either socially awkward, clinically depressed or both. - The system allows for very incompetent people to graduate with MS or PhDs. - If you are not going into the PhD or into academia, everyone will see you as inferior.

      Pros

      The HPC facilities (HPCC, ICER) offer excellent access for research affiliates colpaborating with university researchers, with Slurm job scheduling and a well-managed site-specific wiki.

      Cons

      Annual account renewal can be a bit bureacratically clunky at times, and the Research Affiliate may have to coordinate with multiple departments and the associated PI if a system update breaks part of a legacy system.
