HR Office & Marketing Assistant - Human Resources Office & Marketing Assistant Michigan State University Employee Review

Pros

Michigan State, for me especially as a student, is so convenient. They work around my class schedule and make sure I am given the amount of hours I requested. There's endless opportunities here at MSU for career advancement. There's also a lot of room for growth to move up into a full time position.

Cons

The only con I would have to say about working at MSU is the low pay. Most student employees are only paid minimum wage with a tiny raise after each year you work.

Pros

The HPC facilities (HPCC, ICER) offer excellent access for research affiliates colpaborating with university researchers, with Slurm job scheduling and a well-managed site-specific wiki.

Cons

Annual account renewal can be a bit bureacratically clunky at times, and the Research Affiliate may have to coordinate with multiple departments and the associated PI if a system update breaks part of a legacy system.
