Pros

The campus is pretty with lots of green space. There are a ton of local events for both single people and family's.The health cost are low and it helps for those with kids.

Cons

Each department on campus is run completely different. Some of the departments are cutting edge and have good managerial staff others hmm... let just say the peter principal is at work. On average your pay is going to be on a slow truck from Georgia so i'd suggest you negotiate upfront for the money you need. The typical raise for an APA is like 1%. The work life balance is good for some and bad for others. The distribution of task is in need of review for IT jobs.

Pros

The HPC facilities (HPCC, ICER) offer excellent access for research affiliates colpaborating with university researchers, with Slurm job scheduling and a well-managed site-specific wiki.

Cons

Annual account renewal can be a bit bureacratically clunky at times, and the Research Affiliate may have to coordinate with multiple departments and the associated PI if a system update breaks part of a legacy system.
