Pros
No one above you really knows what they are doing so "passing the buck" is very common and takes pressure off of the employee.
Cons
No solid leadership, to get specific answers to concerns you need to talk to 3+ people above you before you get the same reply rearranged multiple times and you're still left without an answer. Pay is not worth the knowledge an employee needs to bring with them. There are large amounts of favoritism and nepotism within the organization of MTU as well. Couples working together on the same staff and within specific affiliated departments does not make a comfortable environment to work in as a professional staff member or a student staff member. There is also a lack of opportunities for growth within this department.
