Pros

-You meet people who are interested in technology. -You get 1 hour for lunch. -Can be somewhat helpful with scheduling hours. Not the greatest. (See cons) -Health insurance (Can apply once a year) -Discounts on items. -Diverse group of co-workers. -Understandable about being late (Just be careful, it's NOT a good idea to ever be late). -Only "nice" Manager at Madison Heights, MI is Cathy, she has years of experience.

Cons

-If you want to spend time with family, don't work here. -If you want to go to college, watch out the managers will reduce your hours for the first week then slowly schedule you back up. -The management treats you like you're in high school, Colleen (General Manager) is the principal of the school (Micro Center - Madison Heights, MI). They can be really rude, and pick on people they don't like. -You are forced to work weekends. -I was General Sales, everyone else stands around while you do all the work- this means unloading "bread racks" and stocking the shelves. The other sales teams Apple, Systems, BYO all look down on you. -You do not leave at a exact time, and you may be forced to stay over. -After the store closes management has you clean up, even if you start early and work really hard to get everything completed so you can leave on time- management will hold you and make you help anyone who didn't use proper time management to start cleaning their isles. -If you are recruited by a Micro Center Employee, just remember Micro Center will give them 250 dollars after you work so many months. Which means they will say anything to try to get you to work there. -PROMISED everyone in General Sales would get a little raise for many months- it never happened. Overall: This list could go on much longer.

Pros

Customer obsessed culture with a strong emphasis on expertise and service. Leadership is highly engaged, with consistent focus on coaching, accountability, and development through structured one-on-ones and daily execution rhythms. Clear expectations across sales, service, and operations create alignment on what success looks like. The organization provides exposure across multiple business functions, allowing leaders to build well rounded operational and commercial skill sets. High performance environment that rewards ownership, initiative, and results.

Cons

As a smaller, specialized retailer, organizational growth and upward mobility may take longer compared to larger big-box companies. Resources and infrastructure are still evolving in certain areas, which can require leaders to be more hands-on. High expectations and pace can create pressure during peak periods, requiring strong prioritization and resilience. Some systems and processes have a learning curve, particularly for leaders coming from larger, more standardized organizations.
