Pros
I may not currently share the most competitive salary in the Bay area, but I have been able to work from home since way before the COVID days. Most of my previous day to day support work has been outsourced to Costa Rica, Bulgaria, and Nigera. In the old days, getting those guys up to speed was a major responsiblitiy of mine. Now, they seem to function autonomously.
Cons
We never sunset a product. It stays forever. Marketing and sales are always repackaging our security products and selling them in SaaS suites that will do everything and the dishes. I support this stuff the best I can. We seem to have a process for everything. There isn't a lot of yelling around here.
