Pros

Good insurance and benefits. Hourly rate is below average but if you take advantage off all the various benefits it becomes more competitive. Pretty laid back, not much stress.

Cons

Can be very boring at times, at least on my crew it was. Kind of a weird place, feels kinda claustrophobic in a way.

Pros

The hours are excellent, as there are few other jobs that offer 3 on/4 off, 4 on/3 off where I can have such an excellent work/life balance. Almost everyone I have encountered has been very easy to learn from and work with. Micron offers many benefits that support having a family, including direct financial, TOP, insurance, and savings benefits. Get to work with humanity's most cutting-edge technology providing one of the most important products in human history. Fulfilling work.

Cons

The pay is acceptable, but you will be seriously pressed to find a place to live near the main site in Boise. Housing availability for families is severely limited while apartments, while more numerous, have become significantly more expensive to rent. Between that and the rise of the cost of living in the area, the base pay here is difficult to cover everything if you didn't show up with some monetary reserves. People are trying their best, but training very much needs attention getting better organized and structured. Especially working in an R&D environment with so many different dangerous materials and equipment. Even more seriously, there is some doubt that you can get proper support if you are actually injured in this environment. You may find yourself getting told whatever injury you suffered at work is a "pre-existing condition". This is not a hypothetical.
