Pros
honestly not much anymore except "you have a job" as its placated to you by your skip level and up managers from their ivory tower. Benefits are still better than average, until Amy Hood and Judson decide to create another AI model and call it Jamy.ai, thus cutting benefit budgets There are still a lot of people who believe in the clown show. These are great people, the people who keep the lights on while everyone else is trying to keep from falling off the moving goalpost of doom. I feel for these people.
Cons
where do i start? Micromanagement is probably the biggest issue. Its caused a very hunger games/lord of the flies/squid game all rolled into one mentality. The cuts cause even more micromanagement (as a human reaction to make sure people are following the pinocchio strings and dancing to the right tune of stinky excrement). Pay -- not even close to AWS, Google or any other player in the game. Average close to 10K off. "Oh but your stock rewards" -- please nobody keeps a 500 dollar overinflated stock that was built on the back of OpenAI (which runs like crap in copilot) Really really bad leadership -- excellent "management" though. Metrics metrics metrics all day every day. Many people feel lucky and still have this imposter syndrome which makes them feel like they dont deserve it, and hence the wheel continues to spin, and sales people continue to sell things that no resource can effectively deliver because there are not enough. Really biased internal hiring processes - great internal interviews only to be told sorry we are moving on 3 weeks later. signals -- Merely another way for M1's to get blamed when many of the questions are weighted for upper management. so much more
