My crew is treated poorly and receives little effective guidance. We often suffer insult and favoritism. Our standards change from week to week. There is no consideration given to employees who work on their feet forty hours a week. Sometimes the work runs out and everyone is sent home. There is very little advance notice of overtime, which is forced, sixty hours at week. Employees are often fired or laid off, which creates a pervasive fear of termination. New hires are left to flounder unless a co-worker steps in and shows them the ropes. We work most holidays without alternate time off. There is no easily obtained information about vacation or sick pay.
Some of the solutions to problems are bizarre, and are often for a problem that simply doesn't exist.
The tools provided are barely better than crap and are used to control employees ("hang that tool there, use this tool here); best if you own your own tools and use them to get your work done. Do not expect full time work during the whole year but expect to sell your soul to Mike's before, during and after the twice yearly "Mega Sale." Once you figure out how to avoid the stupid stuff, it's actually an okay place to work.
