Business Outlook
Pros
The technicians who work there are generally nice people. Raises were clearly defined as a technician (certifications + years). When we were busy you could make a lot of money.
Cons
Flat rate pay is not conducive to customer satisfaction. In order to make a decent paycheck you need to work on a lot of cars, fast. 40+ hour work week is the normal (avg 46hr) since you are paid by the job there is no overtime for the extra hours you are there. Generally you come home wore out and dirty to the point it takes your weekends to recover.
