Pros

Sigma has some great people, definitely the best part of Sigma is the wonderful co workers. The parking is free. Not too far of a drive,

Cons

With so many good, hard working people it is hard to watch Sigma go into the dark ages. HR does nothing to help or support workers abused by inadequate managers who have taken advantage of the fear in people. With the trials that face all of us these days I had hoped Sigma would have stepped up to the plate and support their employees instead of taking advantage and using these trying times to use and neglect instead.

Pros

A strong entry-level opportunity that allowed me to build a solid foundation in the biotechnology industry. I appreciated the job stability, benefits, and structured work environment. The position also gave me valuable experience working in a regulated laboratory, following SOPs, maintaining accurate documentation, and contributing to the safety testing of biologics and vaccines.

Cons

One challenge of the Associate Scientist role was that advancement became limited after reaching a certain level unless a higher-level position became available. The work could also involve long or unpredictable hours because some assays had strict timelines and could not always be paused. At times, overtime was restricted even when an assay required additional attention, which made scheduling and workload management more difficult.
