The company certainly sells a good story of "disruptive innovation" and "one team mentality" that make it seem like an exciting place to work, and I suppose it is... if you are willing to accept all the chaos that comes with it. It's almost like leadership expects a cult-like following from their employees. You are supposed to be "obsessed" with the brand and the customer. Everything revolves around this. Fine, the company needs to make money. But what are they giving employees in return for their blind loyalty?
- No paternity and leave the absolute bare minimum of maternity leave (this is frankly embarrassing in 2022 and good indicator of how much they do not value employees)
- Refusal to adapt a hybrid work structure even though the company is spread across multiple buildings any way because "culture" (read: control)
- Average to below average pay and bonus structure, even after quarterly flaunting of profitability and growth by leadership
- Horrible work-life balance in many areas
- Very few corporate holidays compared to other companies
- If you care about working for a company that is at all progressive, this is not that... the company is run by a group of white men and it shows.
They've been getting away with this because the economy has been horrible the past few years while their business has been booming, and there have been very few big companies to work for in Wisconsin that are consistently successful. At some point this is all going to catch up to them. At the end of the day this is a job and people aren't working for fun, they are working for compensation and benefits. Employees have more choices now - why would they continue to work for a company that expects everything from them for peanuts in return?
