Pros
Fair Pay. Excellent benefits. Creative autonomy. Supportive leadership (mostly).
Cons
1. Underwhelming diversity, especially in Executive Leadership Team (mostly white men). 2. Blatant favoritism/cronyism from the new CEO, especially during the November 2022 layoffs. (Mindbody acquired ClassPass in 2021, retaining all ClassPass employees during the transition. However, in 2022, the CEO from ClassPass became the CEO of Mindbody and shortly after taking over, announced a huge reduction in force, laying off most of the Mindbody Web and Marketing employees. Nearly all original ClassPass employees were spared from the layoffs and several were promoted to the newly vacant roles.) 3. Lack of transparency and misrepresentation of company performance, which directly led to a false sense of job security prior to the layoffs. (Right before the 2022 reduction in force was announced, the new CEO rolled out major, and likely expensive, improvements to the benefits package, leading everyone to believe the company was doing well financially and providing a strong sense of job security and a positive outlook on the future of Mindbody. It was disrespectful and unnecessarily cruel to tease everyone with such promises, knowing full well they would be eliminating so many jobs only a few weeks later… and heading into the holiday season, no less. 4. Bottom line: it was a good job while it lasted, but if offered the opportunity to return, I would decline. I’ve lost all respect for Mindbody/ClassPass and cannot in good conscious recommend them as a trustworthy employer.
