Pros

Had great work-life balance, fairly flexible work schedule, really promoted teamwork/collaboration. They also seemed Overall, the culture there seemed great and something that seems to be rather rare in this industry.

Cons

-Despite have some in-house projects, they're so intertwined with Paychex, that anything Paychex does or wants, they're pretty much beholden to. It seems like Mindex is really Paychex but with extra steps. --Sort of a subpoint to this is that due to the nature of the relationship between Mindex and Paychex, when Paychex decides to cut contracts without much warning, Mindex is left scrambling to somehow find millions of dollars to make up the lost revenue. Which leads to the next con.... -Layoffs! All the pros mentioned above in regards to teamwork and culture, you can now throw out the window. Laying off 10% of staff out of the blue in order to offshore positions seems completely anthem to a place that seemed to not only pride and base its values on being a "great place to work" but also a great asset to the local Rochester community. They also mention trust and gratitude as core values, holding themselves to "an uncompromising, high degree of integrity and ethics." and how they "appreciate our employees and recognize their role in our success." I'm not sure how that can be the case given the choice to offshore jobs. -The last con pales in comparison to the other two above but if you're looking for mobility and what you need to do move up or take on a new position, well, good luck. There isn't exactly an outline for how somebody could do that. While there is some benefit to being able to just go "Hey boss, I think I should have X position because of Y", without even a vague guideline of requirements, goals, etc it makes it quite difficult to even get to the point of making that pitch.

We appreciate feedback and would like to clarify a common misconception. Although a recent shift with one large customer resulted in a slight reduction in force (RIF), our business remains strong. Our customer base is both broad and diverse, spanning multiple industries and regions and encompassing both product and service lines. With over 30 years in business, we've built a resilient foundation, and our decisions are always made thoughtfully with long-term strength in mind. We remain committed to our team, our core values and our mission moving forward. We appreciate your perspective and your time with Mindex.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience and for being part of Mindex for the past few years. Really great to hear your callout on the team having smart, supportive people to work with is something we care a lot about. We also appreciate the honest feedback around career growth. That’s something we’re actively working on, whether it’s creating clearer paths for advancement or expanding development opportunities across teams. On the client side, including our partnership with Paychex, we know that experience can vary by project. We’re continuing to focus on making sure our teams feel supported and have opportunities to grow, regardless of assignment. Thanks again for the feedback, it’s helpful and appreciated!
