Pros

Hands down the best reason to work at MAC are because of the Kiddos you get to work with. Learning about their incredibly unique and wonderful personalities coupled with watching the immense progress that they have made over my time here has been the sole reason I have stayed for as long as I have. There are a lot of hardworking and trustworthy senior staff have a lot of advice to offer on the various aspects of the job. There is also roughy 3 1/2 weeks of PTO available per year. Which is nice.

Cons

The current average pay for a Behavioral Therapist in the Twin Cities (according to Indeed.com) is $21.32/hr. I am a lead position on the floor, and I make $19.71/hr. Make it make sense. This job is an emotionally taxing job with a high burnout rate. There are a lot of support systems in place for the staff, which are helpful for alleviating the symptom without solving the underlying problems that could be solved with higher wages. This company treats a promotion as a yearly raise, despite the increase of responsibilities that accompany that raise. This company will additionally increase the responsibilities of your position without increasing financial compensation for those responsibilities. An occasional catered breakfast or lunch, or gift card is incorrectly viewed as adequate staff appreciation for a job with one of the highest daily stress levels I have ever encountered in my professional career.

Pros

Training into the job and connections with clients

Cons

Very mentally exhausting, difficult to juggle multiple tasks when you need your client within a hands reach, favoritism from management, and of course low pay
