Pros

One of the biggest pros is helping people. There are many sick and people in need of assistance. Also, creating a safer environment and enhancing everyone’s feeling of safety.

Cons

Working 60-70 hours a week made it difficult to keep a work life balance. Although I enjoy what I do, I find myself missing out on my family.

Thanks for your feedback. Safety and relationship-centered leadership is indeed a focus, and we will continue to work on that moving forward. Work life balance is key, I am wondering you you have the opportunity to participate in the new Life XT Program that will be rolling out? It helps look at taking care of yourself holistically and helping you re-align the balance that is essential. If you are interested, contact talentacquisition@msj.org.

Pros

Great nurses, resilient community, many leadership growth opportunities, large hospital with many specialties, the only level 1 trauma center in WNC.

Cons

The hours are very challenging. often 5am to 6pm M-F. No additional compensation for extra hours, nights, or on-call weekends. You must love the work, and have minimal need for work-life balance to enjoy working here.
