Pros

Thoroughly enjoyed the work, liked my co-workers, my department did many staff focused events (potlucks, holiday competitions, etc). Opportunities to learn new things as they are available.

Cons

Holes in the processes/staff, many long term career employees who were less then effective at their positions and held a very staunch "not my job" opinion. Lots of work for those who work hard, less then stellar recognition for going above and beyond.

Pros

Great nurses, resilient community, many leadership growth opportunities, large hospital with many specialties, the only level 1 trauma center in WNC.

Cons

The hours are very challenging. often 5am to 6pm M-F. No additional compensation for extra hours, nights, or on-call weekends. You must love the work, and have minimal need for work-life balance to enjoy working here.
