Pros

Mizuho is a great company and I have made a lot of great professional connections that have turned out to be good friends of mine. Overall the benefits, the pay and the bonuses are all top notch. I also had a fairly good experience dealing with management across the board. It was a fairly good experience for 3.5 years.

Cons

Politics. With the merging and consolidation that is occurring, it really depends on who's team you are in terms of your success. Unfortunately I was handcuffed being in a team and then when a reorg happened, still known as being linked to that team. While I made headway with many different groups across the company based on my abilities, I was blocked from progressing on where I wanted to really go and others as well. When you promise that folks are going to become technologists, don't have them do endless amounts of PowerPoint and turn them into your personal admins.
