Pros
Amazing work-life balance - Being able to leave work at work is something that's hard to find now. Care for employees - Despite the recent layoff issue, Moebius really does care about its employees. They implemented a wellness program, provide a great snack and soft drink bar, throw quarterly Happy Hours and company events (K1 Speed was the last), and celebrate success through Top Dog awards at the Christmas party. Not to mention they are generous with bonuses and have a semiannual compensation review when things are good. Diverse technology stack - While their main product is a monolithic Java application, the various other projects that support it are build around a variety of other tools. NodeJS, Typescript, React, Redux, Python, Kotlin, Kubernetes, and Docker. It's a great place to learn. Small offices - Most rooms are 4 developers, which keeps noise down and provides a space for collaboration on project goals. No need to wait for 3 managers to requisition a picnic table desk space for you. They give you a real desk with able room for 2 monitors, a standing desk, and nice ergo chairs. Transparency - During the recent layoff cycle the management constantly informed the entire company of the state of events. They did not give specifics but gave everyone fair warning as soon as the year started. Most places axe you within a few days of the rumors starting, but Moebius gave a month.
Cons
Not good at layoffs - I don't think there was a rehearsed off-boarding strategy. There was no consistency in the way each employee was off-boarded. Some were rushed out the door while others were left to linger. Commute - They have positions at SSC (NIWC) Pacific and Sorrento Valley, so driving distance can be an issue as projects do change.
