Pros

Stable job that at times has slow seasons. Standard medical coverage but no paid parental leave.

Cons

Molina Healthcare has outdated, manual processes and virtually zero respect for employees. As a corporate employee of several years, I can attest that employees are underpaid with little to no opportunities for advancement. Team meetings are rare and when they do occur they are directives from leadership with no room for questions or discussion. Worst of all, PTO requests are regularly denied “for business reasons”, even when made over a month in advance. When time off requests are considered, leadership has the nerve to ask why you need the time off. Employees are repeatedly pressured to “volunteer” to work non-standard hours and weekends. Mismanagement and frankly lazy leadership. I can not stress enough how Molina is not a “safe space” for employees psychologically, or otherwise. Run don’t walk. Please note, unfortunately many of the issues described are universal to the the entire company. I have observed even worse issues on many of the other teams and toxic leadership is a company wide trend. We literally have had countless people from a variety of teams stop showing up without telling anyone or send an email blast to the entire company about their mistreatment. This is truly a culture that breeds burnout and mental health crises.

Cons

As with any healthcare organization, workloads can be busy during peak periods, but the experience gained is valuable.

Pros

The on boarding, orientation, initial training, compensation,401k, employee stock program, benefits, perks, the gym, and prior to the Pandemic the professional growth workshops. They offer merit increases and bonuses.

Cons

Cross training can be peer to peer and for short time, yet you are held accountable to master it and audited even if you had little training or experience. There are culture and values along with"no retaliation and no harassment" policies, however there is also no one to take your concerns to that is non-biased. No one to handle the work place bullies or hold management accountable(HR?conflict resolution?) They let the repeated problem people carry on for too long. They do sneaky lay-offs. The internal job posting seems good except, if you apply and you meet all the qualifications your manager or others can block you! They will let you apply to several positions, maybe even on your team or department and will not let you transition or go to another position. Management will not even tell you the reason they need you on the team and won't let you get hired on another team.
