Pros

I'd really like to put something here that would be meaningful. Though after a few years it's starting to look like that's not going to be possible.

Cons

Complete lack of governing processes for IT/BUS project management methodology. Tools are mostly there, just no enforcement on critical steps or processes. Lack of accountability from management (surprise), its all about putting out fires vs. prevention. If you don't feel like a cog at first, just give it time. LOTS of turnover.. including executive mgmt doesn't help with the general morale. Micromanagement is rampant.... due to lack of needed governance at critical milestones within project life cycle. Due to the "need by today" style of awarding contracts, quality is shlt. Help Desk tickets open for 6 months with no resolution... kind of hard to get the job done when shlt's broken. Lackluster tech, over protective IT security that inhibits job functions.

Pros

The on boarding, orientation, initial training, compensation,401k, employee stock program, benefits, perks, the gym, and prior to the Pandemic the professional growth workshops. They offer merit increases and bonuses.

Cons

Cross training can be peer to peer and for short time, yet you are held accountable to master it and audited even if you had little training or experience. There are culture and values along with"no retaliation and no harassment" policies, however there is also no one to take your concerns to that is non-biased. No one to handle the work place bullies or hold management accountable(HR?conflict resolution?) They let the repeated problem people carry on for too long. They do sneaky lay-offs. The internal job posting seems good except, if you apply and you meet all the qualifications your manager or others can block you! They will let you apply to several positions, maybe even on your team or department and will not let you transition or go to another position. Management will not even tell you the reason they need you on the team and won't let you get hired on another team.
