Pros

-Unlimited PTO was reintroduced. -Ability to work remotely -My direct colleagues who I interact with daily(my main reason for staying).

Cons

-The pay and benefits are mediocre(compared to the local area salaries of similar positions and experience). -Health benefits and 401k are there to help the company profit, not take care of their employees. Many here ended up getting a supplemental insurance to actually get decent benefits(This was actually encouraged by HR recently)... We were actually given a directive by management to not use our benefits as much in order to save the company money!!!. -Poor planning overall, especially when it comes to growth. Let me explain the product development life cycle: Sales promises a product to clients->management(with little to no technical background or expertise) dictates the timeline and resources of product development->developers are unable to meet the expectations due to the unrealistic expectations->an unfinished product is pushed out to clients which leads to a rising technical debt that ends up draining developer resources(all while the next product is being developed). This leads to a toxic work culture that results in a loss of experienced developers and engineers(there is an active brain drain in this company and management is either overlooking or ignoring it). New developers are hired in an effort to fill the gap but they aren't given adequate training and support which leads to more issues during development phase. Senior developers are pressured to meet deadlines but its starting to feel like we need to work 25 hours a day or face repercussions... -As an engineer your voice is unheard, your experience is disregarded, your skills are grossly overestimated and you solely exist to support sales. -"Brown nosing" will get you to the top while criticism can get you ostracized or even fired. This has definitely led to a "hail corporate" culture where you must praise the decisions by management(good or bad) and constantly praise how "innovative", "inspiring", and "motivational" our leadership and direction is. Corporate presentations and webinars are really just a place to pat each other on the back and veer eyes away from the leadership failures. Honestly the only thing innovative and inspiring about our direction is how they manage to nickel and dime our benefits and pay in an effort to push more profits. -I'm sure its due to the growing number of vocal resentment among employees but there are now "culture pep rallies" which is exactly what you think it sounds like... A "show" from management to show they care without changing anything. We aren't children, we can see through this farce. A company values their employees as much as they reimburse them. You want a superior product? You're going to need quality engineers; if they want quality developers and engineers then they will need to invest in their work force. -Buyouts, buyouts, buyouts, that's all we hear about during webinars and presentations. There is an unsustainable trend of focusing solely on growth; CB continues to focus resources on acquiring new companies while ignoring the employees they currently have.

Micromanagment, lots of decisions being made at the leadership level without thought to how it affects the org as a whole
