Pros
The biggest pro for me was realizing how important and valuable every single moment of time we get on this earth is. I grew to hate this job so much, every single second spent outside of the world of Momentum was such a treat. I now value my time, myself, and my lifestyle so much more, I'm so thankful I now have ZERO ties to this demonic, soul crushing, soulless company. They offer a " base pay " to all their employees. The base pay is $872.00 every 2 weeks. They tell you it's $1,000 every 2 weeks, after taxes and such you get $872.00 For a sales job having a base pay in this in-home sales industry is rare and that's initially what actually attracted me to the job. This would be the only "Pro" I could see. When you eventually add up the mileage and wear and tear on your vehicle,( not to mention the gas costs) the supplemental "base pay" of $872.00 every two weeks will keep you in debt, poor, and hungry. The only pro being that there is one to begin with.
Cons
Okay, let's talk about it. The elephant in the room. The main piece of the cake. THE SCRIPT. Ahhhh yes, the "famous" script. First of all, Momentum will require/ FORCE you to RIGOROUSLY MEMORIZE this absolutely tedious, unnecessary, boring, coma inducing script. This is essentially 90% of your 2 week "training" This script is terrible for a few reasons but for efficiency, let's sum it up quickly for YOU the reader shall we? #1. No one cares about the CEO and his business partners accolades!!!!! The amount of bootlicking praise the upper management receives in this script is outright CRINGE INDUCING. I mean, as a salesperson you're telling me, we're meant to spend 20 minutes speaking on the greatness of two men's lives whom we've never met and whom don't know of our existence let alone the fact we work for their company to a homeowner? Odd. Cult like. It's just strange. ALOT of bootlicking and cult like praise in that section. Everyone finds it odd. #2. Upper management is sad. All the "leaders" of the company are pretty pathetic "Chad", Boiler Room wanna-be's. You as a sales rep will be constantly put down in the weekly meetings for having "poor performance" in fact, this is the recurring theme in all the National Meetings the company holds once a week. Essentially they gather everyone in the company together for 2.5 hours on Zoom and tell them how poor and crappy their lives are and that you need to devote even more time to this company and essentially make them your entire life or you'll be a loser. You're expected to devote yourself completely to Momentum. They will not give you your schedule ahead of time at all. There are days where you think you're working, and you won't get a single appointment all day. Then, there will be days where you think you're off, and at 6pm ( NOT JOKING) you will get a notification stating you've gotten an 8pm appointment. 8pm! That's madness, especially for a first time meeting. You're not given a weekly schedule, you won't know your days on or off, so it will be much harder to make plans for your personal life. You will receive emails and texts at all hours of the day and night about your jobs, duties, and essentially asking for in depth explanations on all your no sales. Which will be most of your appointments because most people won't qualify for solar, or sign up to go solar right then and there. You're expected to complete all sorts of post training modules for the entirety of your career which is essentially online quizzes of the same material over and over again. This company will send you out well over an hour ( sometimes almost 2 hours ) in one direction, *DISTANCE WISE EXCLUDING TRAFFIC* to get to an "appointment" that will 70% of the time not answer the door, not be home/available for the appointment, or will flat out just choose for whatever reason to not sit. ( Sit here meaning, sit down with you as the sales rep and have the appointment). There goes your time and gas. Wasted. Time and time again. Lastly, the turnover rate is astounding. Almost everyone who becomes an employee will end up leaving shortly after. I watched this happen for a year. They all experience the same information I've written for you. Don't believe me? Okay, I wish you peace and healing once you see for yourself. Bonus note: The promised $10,000.00 sign on "Bonus" is not a Bonus and In fact a PERFORMANCE BASED PAY SCALE which is purposefully damn near impossible for a new hire to achieve. Very slimy practice. Let's sum it up. DO NOT WORK HERE = OPPORTUNITY TO FIND HAPPINESS AND MEANINGFUL WORK WORK HERE= CONTEMPLATE JUMPING OFF THE BRIDGE AFTER ANOTHER DRINK ON A TUESDAY AT 11PM. A lot of OVER PROMISE and total UNDER DELIVERANCE.
