Pros
Fully remote work environment.
Strong relationships with coworkers and teammates.
Cons
I understand that many online reviews are written by people after they've left a company, and those reviews can often be negative. With that said, my experience at Mondo over 3.5 years was genuinely disappointing, and I believe it's important to share why.
A major issue was the level of micromanagement. Recruiters were expected to provide constant updates throughout the day, often every 30 minutes to an hour. While leadership frequently asked how they could help, meaningful support was rarely provided. During my time there, I was asked numerous times whether I was looking for another job simply because I was "acting differently." It created an environment where employees felt scrutinized rather than supported.
Accountability was also handled poorly. Recruiters were required to conduct video calls with every candidate, and if a placement fell through for any reason, management would review recordings of those conversations looking for someone to blame. More often than not, the recruiter was held responsible, which could result in write-ups, public criticism, or both.
In my experience, the company seemed to favor inexperienced recruiters who could be trained to operate within its highly controlled environment. Rather than developing professionals and encouraging autonomy, the culture felt focused on compliance and oversight. Leadership, from the top down, often lacked effective people-management skills. It was common for managers to hold team meetings immediately after someone resigned or was terminated and openly criticize that former employee to the rest of the staff.
I also witnessed serious professionalism concerns within management. During my tenure, there were multiple instances in which managers engaged in inappropriate relationships with employees who reported to them. In both cases, the managers involved were married, and the situations raised significant concerns about leadership judgment and workplace ethics.
Overall, my experience at Mondo was characterized by excessive micromanagement, a lack of trust, poor leadership practices, and an unhealthy workplace culture. I would strongly encourage anyone considering employment there to carefully evaluate whether the environment aligns with the type of workplace they are seeking.
