Pros
Emphasis on professional growth. I started as a new technical writer and was given opportunities to learn and grow my skills. Now, I am in a position where I write effectively and mentor others to do the same. I appreciate how MongoDB worked with my career wants and needs. I was promoted to a people-management role, but realized this role did not align with my personal goals and interests. I was able to have an honest discussion about this with my manager, and took on more project-based management. Encouraging cross-team collaboration. One of my favorite parts of this role is getting to meet people from all different facets of the company, and work with them to deliver excellent learning materials.
Cons
Diversity could stand to be improved. Higher-level management sometimes seems a little unclear on their role.
