Pros
If you enjoy learning, and growing, MongoDB is the place for you! I have had opportunities to see how the digital world connects using both commercial products and open-source products. MongoDB feels like it is at the center of it all! With support and exposure to many different programming languages, this experience has allow me to become a programmer polyglot. Hardware performance analysis, and configuration are critical tools. Exposure to major cloud providers, such as AWS, Azure, and GCP is exciting and cutting edge. Use of deployment tools, such as Terraform, Kubernetes, etc. become a default go-to strategy for managing infrastructure-as-code. Security concepts are routinely considered, such as encryption at rest with on-prem or cloud Key Management Systems, or as targeted as automatic field level encryption. Use of Federated authentication mechanisms, such as SAML, or OAUTH are in play, as is Kerberos, and/or LDAP. High peformance is a key concept all while managing High Availability with replica sets and distributed data. I could go on, but I think you get the point. It's very exciting and very cool. I have been here for a bit and I really enjoy myself!
Cons
If you read my PROs you will notice I said a lot. This means the learning curve is fast and steep, but incredibly rewarding.
