Chaotic, no trust, over processed - Production Monks Employee Review

Pros

There are pockets of good people. Healthcare is unparalleled anywhere and time off is welcomed.

Cons

As the company acquired so many studios, there was no infrastructure in place to manage the scaling size. Consolidating every entity to a single name was a disaster. It has caused tension between teams that would never normally work together, no trust to make staff or business decisions, a bloat in leadership and account teams, and constant layoffs. Raises have been on pause for 2-3+ years and expected to stay as such. An obsession on the next buzzword (was Metaverse, now it's AI) and selling any work is causing issues on the ground level. People just want to do good work and be enabled to make decisions to do the work well.

Pros

It's been such a pleasure, joy and fresh air to work here. I'm respected, as is my work life balance.

Cons

Leadership hasn't always been consistent with their words and actions, making it feel scary and tumultuous at times.

Pros

Good pay. Started as a solid brand with talented coworkers.

Cons

No real upward mobility or promotion opportunity. Higher-level senior management is disconnected from creative leadership and tends to gamble a bit too much with client relationships. Agency promises a lot of benefits and growth opportunities for employees that do not come to fruition. When budgets get tight, they cut creative teams regardless of whether the account and employee have been performing well for the agency.
