The pay is competitive and it once had great management. It has a strong union that really works for you.
Cons
I am quite sure the company will be closing it doors after this next contract is over. They have built a new plant in LaPorte Indiana and have been doing much expanding there. Yet, discussing finding the money for much needed updates to the Portage plant seem to fall on deaf ears. The people in LaPorte get payed almost nothing for the work that they do and I fear that since we at the Portage plant make much much more that after this union contract they will be closing the doors for good. The outlook for the Portage plant is not looking good. I honestly am just worried for the job security of anyone that is looking for long term and well paying employment.
