Pros

The people are great. They are smart and friendly and generally willing to help out when they can. The benefits are above average. Work schedule is flexible with regard to working from home when needed. You can have dogs in the office.

Cons

Management has not demonstrated the ability to maintain focus on a single plan for the future. Much of the downward spiral that was the last two years I would attribute to the constant thrashing of priorities as everyone was changing focus to work on the "new" big thing. The end result was that nothing got accomplished and all of the products were left woefully behind the competition. Communication is not as transparent as it could be. In a company this small, it is critical to keep everyone in the loop of what is happening. This was not always the case. Often things were simply not shared. Other times only half truths were shared or data was misrepresented. No one is asking to be at the table with the executives. All the employees are looking for is open communication about the direction of the company and the plans for the future.

Pros

Excellent work/life balance, friendly and fun coworkers, great benefits and time-off, family and pet-friendly environment. Generous opportunities for advancement into different fields of interest, be it QA, CS, DBA, Marketing, IT, etc. etc. Regardless of job title and/or skills, everyone works together as a team to support each other and share responsibilities. Open-door policy, whoever you are - you can grab lunch and talk with anyone from the CEO to the office manager with openness and ease. Casual/comfortable dress, wear a button-up shirt and tie if that's your thing, or roll out of bed and throw on flip-flops and jeans.

Cons

Changes in upper level management and the new approach to company culture has left many feeling disgusted and looking for other job opportunities - it's now an environment of distrust and instability. Zero inter-office communication and collaboration, our 3 locations may as well still be different and independent companies. Quite a lot of short-term, "good enough" fixes that compound problematic system issues in the long run. Uncertainty of where the company plans to be in the future, and how it will evolve with the changing world.
