Pros
Pension but you're vested after 3 years.
Cons
Where do I begin? I worked in IT. The culture here is circa 1989. They require employees to clock in like you're working at a factory. I felt racially profiled. Dress code (business attire) is governed to the tee. Manager was the most blunt, rudest woman I have ever met. I've worked in IT almost 20 years and I've seen my share of managers, but this one was absolutely the worst. During my tenure not once did she meet with me to discuss ANYTHING. I sat right by her office and never a 'Hi' nor 'Good morning' was ever given. Often times I'd hear her speak down to other employees and co-workers. She'd invite certain team members out to coffee but not others including myself right in front of them. She was always so dismissive and rude. She once told me to spit out my gum as she could hear me chewing and it was driving her crazy. I don't know how people continue to put up with her. Just to give you an idea of what kind of person she is, she eliminated my job a week before Christmas. If you're considering an IT position here, do yourself a favor and move on. The pension is not worth it!
