Pros
Nurses just recently got a good contract with a pay increase that matches inflation and ensures accountability for over whelming the nurse with patient ratios, but this was a union fight.
Cons
- Limited resources. Montefiore is cheap. An attending was told to buy her own hand sanitizer. - No flexibility for NPs. Attendings and some ancillary staff are allowed to WFH, NPs are not. - We are over worked and not compensated for overbooking patients. - No OT for nurses unless you work a full shift on a day you’re not typically scheduled to work, even though most schedules are M-F. - Very short staffed across multiple divisions and disciplines within the hospital. - Offices and work areas are not well maintained.
