Pros

Moody's offers a good life and work balance, managers are normally respectful of this. There is a exchange of knowledge, and colleagues are usually available to help. It is an intellectually challenging job that gives the possibility of developing a real knowledge on an asset class or a market. The job security is also pretty high. REdundancies only occur in case of big restructurings, it happend at the end of 2007.

Cons

Career possibilities especially after the recent crisis are fairly limited, and the company is in a stationary state. No retention policy, promotions by seniority in the job, and salary discrepancy between the senior employees that progressed in their carreers before the crisis and the one that joined around 2007.

Pros

Great work-life balance. Decent benefit.

Cons

They don't pay you much. They don't treat engineers as profession. They think engineers are all the same and can swap any of them them with joiner engineers or contractors. They thought they can hire a contractor for 4 months for a project. They took a full month to get a laptop for a contractor, took one more month to get them through onboarding, then took one more month to get them use to the codebase, then the contractor wrote one line, then the 4 months was up. We had to repeat the process with a new contractor.
